Exporting

Emerald's core business since its incorporation in 1991 has been the exportation of US coals. Export accounts for approximately 85% of the firm's business, with the remainder being imports and domestically traded coals.  Emerald typically purchases coals from all of the major coal producing areas in the U.S. These coals are then shipped domestically to the port of export. Emerald has supplied both single seam, and homogenously blended cargoes. Emerald Ships through the Port of New Orleans and utilizes both land based terminals mid-stream operations including Associated Terminal at mile point 155 and the Louisiana Mid-Stream One located at mile point 134 on the Mississippi River.  Our customer base includes most of the European coal burning utilities, industrial end users, and international traders. Emerald also provides export logistical services to others, including producers and traders.
